Sometimes the weather just doesn't cooperate.
All week we were watching the weather forecast for Jackson, Mississippi, hoping the skies would be clear and the temperatures would be mild. As the week turned to weekend one thing became clear; the weather was not going to cooperate.
Although it was cold and rainy outside, inside the hotel everything was warm and inviting. Mayra and Freddie got ready in adjacent rooms, with only a wall separating them from one another before the wedding. Of course there were nerves on both sides of the wall, but each of them did their best to stay calm and collected. Being on the 9th floor gave us a pretty good view of the weather, and despite everyone's high hopes things were looking soggy.
As the day went on the weather began to change. The rain slacked off a little during the ceremony at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, and by the time the reception was in full swing at The South the rain had disappeared. It's funny what can happen with a little time and patience. Things may seem cold and cloudy, but if you hang in there long enough everything clears up and you'll wind up with a beautiful evening. Congrats Mayra and Freddie on your beautiful day; may you have many more together!!
